Abstract

Sickle cell anemia is a severe hereditary disease associated with hemoglobin pathology, which is associated with the loss of elasticity and shape changes of erythrocytes (takes a crescent shape), which is later clinically manifested by vaso-occlusive crises, slowing of blood flow, thrombosis and organ infarctions. It is the severity of the disease, the specificity of the innovative treatment confirmed by clinical trials, and the increasing statistical indicators that make the issue relevant.
